Day 1: HALONG INTERNATIONAL PORT - BAI TU LONG BAY - CONG DO - CAP LA ISLAND
Morning

In the morning, you will be collected from your hotel, heading to Ha Long Bay in the Northeast of Vietnam by our Swan shuttle bus. 

Afternoon

Arrive at Swan office then we will transfer you to Swan Cruise by a tender. As soon as you board, enjoying welcomed drink while listening to our cruise briefing about safety onboard and activities prior to check-in procedures. Next, you are offered a delicious Vietnamese set menu while we head towards the core of Bai Tu Long Bay. Your first destination is Cap La Island, one of the most stunning areas in Bai Tu Long Bay. It is best to enjoy kayaking through karst and beautiful nature, swimming and relaxing. In the late afternoon, you will enjoy a Sunset party on boat while our cruise sails back to the overnight anchorage.

Evening

A hearty set-menu dinner awaits you onboard. After that, you are free to enjoy games or try your luck with squid fishing. Your day ends with a comfortable sleep on our Swan Cruise.

We will then transfer to well-hidden Thien Canh Son cave where you are explained about the history of Ha Long Bay, Bai Tu Long Bay and this cave. After that, return to the boat, you will have 30 minutes to freshen up and finish packing. Please remove all of your belongings from your cabin, you may leave heavy luggage outside of the cabin (staff will transfer directly to the pier). Late morning, a Cooking demonstration is held teaching you how to cook Vietnamese traditional dishes on boat. You will enjoy a traditional Vietnamese lunch before disembarking in Halong International Cruise Port. The trip will end with a farewell party then you will be transferred back to Hanoi.

Early-birds are welcomed to attend our Tai Chi session on the Sundeck. Enjoy your breakfast. You will then be transfered to the day boat to go further to Bai Tu Long Bay's pristine area. Stop at Thay Cave area for swimming and kayaking.

Afternoon

Return to the boat for a delicious lunch. In the afternoon, visit Vung Vieng fishing village and pearl farming. Relax and admire the bay view on the way back to Swan Cruise at around 15:00. In the late afternoon, a sunset party awaits you as soon as you return to the boat.

Evening

Enjoy a hearty dinner onboard and take part in evening activities including playing games, squid fishing.

  • Children from 12 and above must pay full fare as adult.
  • Peak season surcharge: Surcharge $40/adult and $30/child for cruise tours on Christmas (24/12), New Year (31/12). Surcharge $30/adult and $15/child per night for Tet Holiday (16, 17, 18, 19/02/2026)

  • More than 30 days prior to check-in: free of charge 
  • From 30 to 11 days prior to check-in: 15% of total rates 
  • From 10 to 7 days prior to check in: 30% of total rates.

Dear Genevieve Power, Please be advised that the Swan Cruise does not stop at the fishing village. You may consider Signature Cruise to do that. This cruise goes to Vung Vieng floating village and you can do kayaking around this area. Squid fishing is available on most of the cruises. Best regards, Cindy

Dear Lan, After the cruise trip, you can stay at your hotel in Halong and come to the cruise lounge the following day to join the shuttle bus returning to Hanoi. Shuttle bus pick-up and drop-off at hotels in Hanoi Old Quarter at about 8:00-8:30am/2:30pm, drop-off and pick-up at the cruise pier at about 11:00-11:30am. Best regards, Bonnie (Ms.)

Is everything included in the quoted price for the 3 day 2 night Bai Tu Long cruise? I can guess that drinks and transfers are extra, but is everything else (food, activities, etc.) included? Also, is it possible to arrange for transport from our Hanoi hotel to the boat, and then to the airport after the cruise? Lastly, are the double beds the same as King Size beds or Queen Size beds?

Hi, your cruise looks wonderful. I see that others have asked about going to the airport after the cruise - however have also read that a new expressway has now been constructed. Has the travel time to the Bac Ninh Crossroad changed? What time could the free shuttle drop us off there? Is the time the same for the 2day1night and 3day2night cruises? Thank you!

Dear Russell, Thank you for your inquiry. I'm glad to assist you with your trip. The new expressway has been constructed now and some cruises change to go by this road already but please kindly note that Swan cruises still go the normal way, don't go on the highway. The bus will arrive at Bac Ninh crossroad around 3:30 pm (for 2 days or 3 days is the same). If you have the flight around 5:00 pm so you can stop here then take a taxi and go directly to the airport, otherwise you can come back to the old quarter and get a taxi later. 1 night in Bai Tu Long Bay was our best choice. The trip went smoothly from start to finish. Quick pickup and comfortable van. The ship was a bit old but the accommodation was clean and well-equipped. Food was really delicious. The staff welcomed us warmly and treated us like family throughout the tour. A shout out to Mr Sunday, our knowledgeable and thoughtful tour guide. He guided us to places in the bay and in all activities. Very happy to meet him.
Trash on the bay made us a bit disappointed. Hope the issue can be handled very soon.

An overnight cruise that everyone should try once in their lifetime. It was more wonderful than we could imagine. We were impressed with the professional service and clear communication of the staff. The hosts welcomed us warmly. A trip experience but feels like home. Highly recommend it.

We rate this ship as okay. We prefer more adventurous trips but that's fine. The bus was very good with comfortable seats. Tour guide was informative. The harbor is bustling with many other shipping lines. It was a blessing when we booked a room with a private balcony. Spending time there every morning was great. Enchanting scenery from Bai Tu Long bay. The food was not that great but we appreciated their efforts to take care of the special dietary requirements of all guests. Even dieters don't have to worry because the menu is great.
Swimming was fun but swimming on a beach full of trash was very bad. I thought Bai Tu Long would be very different but all the same. To be honest, we have seen much more beautiful caves. Check out very early, 9:30 a.m, after morning activities.

A huge thanks to the travel agency for recommending Bai Tu Long. We planned to travel to Halong at first. The bay was less busy. The room was incredible, the food delicious, the staff informative, especially Sunday kindly showing us the landscape.
We couldn’t swim in areas with trash floating. Little time in the room, so suggest you book a standard room.

The staff greeted us with welcoming smiles. Obviously, they were friendly and helpful. A comfy bed, a clean bathroom, and a lovely balcony. Another part we loved on the trip was activities like cave exploring, swimming, and kayaking. There were also many things to do on the boat such as Happy Hour, Cooking class, Taichi.
It should collect guests at a gathering point in Hanoi to save time. Arriving at the pier, we had to wait a long time to see the cruise. Food was good but over-served, felt like so waste to throw away leftovers.

The transfer service was safe and comfortable. Flexible itinerary so we could skip some activities for resting onboard. The staff was great. They served us attentively. They even provided separate menus for allergies or diet. Happy Hour was fun. We made friends with some lovely guests in this part.
We rate the cruise average. A bit confusing from the staff, some of them couldn’t speak English. Witness so many plastics floating on the seawater. We couldn’t swim in these areas. We looked forward to a peaceful stay on Bai Tu Long but everything didn’t go well. The pier was so crowded with hundreds of buses and tourists. Limit time on board. Early check-out. It would be better with a personalized tour.

Our Halong bay tour was amazing. Fun activities, including kayaking and squid fishing. It was great to have Ken’s help. He took us to the sights and introduced them. Electrical equipment worked safely. The bed was very comfortable. Everything was worth the price.
