Arrive at Tuan Chau Marina after a 2.5-hour drive (if using our transfer). Embark on Grand Pioneers Cruise at noon. Enjoy a welcome drink at Cloud Nine restaurant while the cruise manager gives a short briefing about safety and cruise.

Afternoon
Lunch is served in the restaurant while the yacht cruises to Halong Bay. The first stop is Sung Sot Cave. You have around 1 hour to discover the largest cave in Halong Bay with beautiful stalactites and stalagmites. If the excursion do not take your fancy, don't miss a bunch of services and facilities onboard such as La Spa, swimming pool, bar, 3D golf simulator, cigar club, poker, library, etc. After the visit, you back to Grand Pioneers Cruise to savor the canepe and join the Happy Hour with a long list of cocktails, wine, and other drinks.
Evening

Have breakfast at the restaurant to gain full energy. At 9:30 am, check in at the final point of the heritage bay called Xuong Rong Island. At 10:00, you have 2 options to explore the bay: (1) Discover Da Xep Park - an outdoor geological museum or (2) Relax at a pristine beach.

Afternoon

A hearty lunch is served. At 14:30, visit Vung Vieng Floating Fishing Village - one of the most ancient villages on the bay. You have a chance to witness Phao Dai Island, Tien Ong Cave, and Con Coc Island at the border of Lan Ha Bay and Halong Bay.

Evening

Join a party with The Legacy Gala dinner. After that, you have free time to enjoy the night view and experience other entertainment activities onboard. Overnight onboard.

Afternoon

After the lunch break, return to Halong Bay and visit Pearl Farm Exhibition Center and Museum. You get back to Grand Pioneers Cruise at around 3:30 - 3:45 pm. Enjoy sunset and Happy Hour time.

  • 1 (one) child under 4 years old sharing a cabin with 1 (one) adult must pay full fare as an adult.
  • The Child Rate for children from 4 to 11 years old is applicable for 1 (one) child sharing a cabin with 2 (two) adults (No extra Mattress): 50%
  • The Child Rate for children from 4 to 11 years old is applicable for 1 (one) child sharing a cabin with 2 (two) adults (With extra Mattress): 75%
  • Children aged 12 and above must pay full fare as an adult.
  • Peak season surcharge: Surcharge VND 50USD/night applies for travel date on 30th April, 1st May, 30th August – 1st Sep 2025, 24th December and 31st December and Vietnamese Lunar Tet Holiday (28, 29, 30, 31/01/2025)
  • On the second day you will travel on a day boat and do not have access to the mother boat and your cabin until later in the afternoon (for 3 days/2 nights itinerary)

Dear Mr Neil, I wish to advise you that Grand Pioneer is offering the 2 main 3Days/2Nights trip option under the name: Day boat and Legacy program.

- Day boat: you will be transferred by the day boat to explore and having excursion on the second day 
- Legacy : you will explore the whole itinerary continuously by the mother boat and don't have to be transferred to a different on the second day

- By shuttle bus: 35 USD/person for a roundtrip transfer
The shuttle bus will pick you up from hotels within Hanoi Old Quarter around 8:00 - 8:30 am, and return between 14:30 - 14:45. 

- By private car: 165 USD/2 people for a roundtrip transfer
Please expect to be picked up from any location around Hanoi at 8:30 am, and bring you back around 14:15.

Dear Jenny Lee, Grand Pioneers Cruise normally disembarks at around 10:30 - 10:45 am and it takes about 1 hour to transfer to Hai Phong airport so you can make it for your flight. - Pool is 4 seasonal pool with the highest temperature being 38 degrees Celsius. Opening time is from 6.30am to 9.30pm but you need to take care of your kids when they are swimming. 

- Life jackets fit 3 years old and 5 year old kids as well. 

- The kid club includes a slide, ball room, and Vietnamese anime...

- There is no babysit service on the boat so you need to take care of your kids yourself.

- Yes, the kids can join all adult activities such as cave visiting, kayaking...

However, please be advised Grand Pioneers provide itinerary for max 2 nights. If you want to take a 3 night trip, the itinerary will be repeated.

Otherwise, if you can change your trip to Jun 2, the Ocean Suite cabin is still available at US$ 790/cabin. The transfer costs US$ 18/person/shuttle bus one way. The cruise will operate 3 days 2 nights on every day as on the second day, they will use a day boat for activities in further areas. Dear Chervonne, Thank you for your email! We are so happy to hear from you! Please be advised that Essence Grand Cruise includes Titop island in the itinerary already without extra charge. However, this cruise departs/disembarks from Tuan Chau and goes through the route of Halong Bay so it is not possible to drop you off at Cat Ba island. You will need to go back to Tuan Chau Marina then take a ferry to Gia Luan pier. If you want to stop at Cat Ba, you can take a cruise that goes to Lan Ha Bay such as Stellar of the Seas, Elite of the Seas, Capella, Heritage Cruise Binh Chuan... and the cruisers can arrange a drop off at Gia Luan pier on Cat Ba island for you (with/without extra charge subject to each boat). In the itinerary, it said "a transfer boat will pick you up from Essence Grand Superyacht for a morning cruise", not a rowing boat. Are passengers transferred to this boat by tenders? Thank you!

Please be advised that on the 2nd day of a 3-day tour, you will be transferred to a transfer boat for off-deck excursions in the morning and come back to the Essence Grand in the afternoon same day. On the 2nd day of the 3D2N cruise, you will take a rowing boat to discover some amazing destinations and enjoy off-deck activities. The mother boat will travel and pick up new passengers of the 2D1N cruise; you can still choose to stay on the mother boat but the activities will be repeated, so you may feel bored. Thus, you can take a taxi to our office at 72 Hang Trong to be picked up by the shuttle bus, OR if you need a private car transfer, please let us know. Regarding the transfer, you can book the shuttle bus Hanoi - Halong - Hanoi at USD 40/ person: (1) Pick-up: the bus will pick you up at hotels in the Hanoi Old Quarter; (2) Drop-off: after the cruise, you will still join the bus to Hanoi and get off at a midpoint in Hanoi (Aeon Mall Long Bien), then our private car will take you to the Hanoi Airport at an extra charge of USD 10/ person. Our family spent 1 night on Grand Pioneers. The vessel was large and luxurious like a floating 5-star hotel. The activities and facilities were suite for all ages. Spa and kid room were excellent for families. Halong Bay was gorgeous. Cant miss it in Vietnam.

A surprising gift I gifted to my fiancée - Grand Pioneers cruise. The staff made it extra special. They prepared some little surprises during dinner, amazing. It was a memorable experience. Friendly staff. Amazing scenery surrounded us, we could enjoy these views from every angle on the ship. Really appreciate the staff (Nick, Lucy, Tony, Tom), totally worth the money.

To begin with, we were picked up by a VIP limousine. The driver went inside the hotel lobby to pick us up and dropped us off in front of the waiting lounge after a journey of approximately 2.5 hour driving. We couldn't believe how beautiful the ship was, it must be a super yacht. The whole interior and design were completely different from what we had ever experienced. I really appreciated the effort of the staff as they tried to do their job well while always keeping a smile on their faces. All the activities were planned wisely, they always knew the perfect time to start an activity. I wish I could extend my trip for another night instead of 2D1N as originally planned.

Grand Pioneers is a cut above all other options in Ha Long Bay. The waiting lounge is very modern, clean and staff are very professional. Cruise manager is very friendly, restaurant manager she tried to accommodate us. What a great experience, really recommend.

What are the differences between 3 Days/2 Nights (Legacy Journey - Odd Date) and Day Boat - Even Date?

2 Grand Pioneers vessels organize 2 different 3 day/2 night programs. The differences are below:

  • Visiting area:

- Legacy Journey: Bai Tu Long Bay & Halong Bay with stops at Thien Canh Son Cave - Cap La - Da Xep Nature Park - Vung Vieng Fishing Village - Sung Sot Cave or Titop Island
- Day Boat: Only Ha Long Bay with stops at Sung Sot Cave - Trinh Nu Cave -  Pearl Farm Exhibition Center - Luon Cave

  • Schedule:

- Legacy Journey: You are not transferred to a day boat for excursions on Day 2 as the Grand Pioneers vessel sails continuously on the bay without returning to the pier.
- Day Boat: You are transferred to a day boat for excursions from 8:30 am to 3:45 pm on Day 2 while Grand Pioneer Cruise returns to the pier to drop off 1-night guests and pick up new guests. You will not have access to your cabin during this time but your cabin is guaranteed to be safe.

  • Travel date:

- Legacy Journey: Only on Odd dates
- Day Boat: Only on Even dates
